Over the last sixty years, Wyvern has become renowned for delivering a superb annual production to showcase the acting and singing talents of its youngsters. This year is no exception, with a perfect musical comedy that was first broadcast on stage and screen in the decade that the school opened. Guys and Dolls JR is an adaptation of the original award-winning 1950s Broadway show about rolling the dice and falling in love.

It tells the story of gambler, Nathan Detroit, as he tries to find the money to set up the biggest card game in the city, while the authorities breath down his neck. Meanwhile, his girlfriend Adelaide laments that they have been engaged for 14 years but are still not married. Nathan turns to fellow gambler Sky Masterson for the cash to fund the game, but Sky ends up chasing and falling in love with straight-laced missionary Miss Sarah Brown. With bustling street scenes, action set in New York and Havana, and a great musical score, the show is sure to be another Wyvern hit!

Students have been rehearsing hard since May and are looking forward to sharing this musical classic with audiences. Running from 29 November – 2 December at 7.00pm in Wyvern Hall, tickets will be on sale from the Wyvern Finance Office at the beginning of November.
