Fair Oak Junior Pupils in German Lessons at Wyvern PDF Print E-mail

In June, Wyvern’s Year 9 Fasttracker students shared some of their language skills by inviting 100 Year 5 pupils from Fair Oak Junior School to Wyvern for a taste of the German language.

Wyvern students devised lively ways to keep everyone involved with a dazzling array of flashcards, games, worksheets and other interactive activities such as vocabulary games on pets, colours, clothes, food, numbers, the weather, countries, the alphabet and sport, and everyone participated with enthusiasm and vigour.

This has been a link event with one of our main feeder schools that has been running for over 6 years and we are grateful to Catherine Spiers of Fair Oak for visiting with her classes.

It was lovely to see the Junior School children’s excitement alongside the maturity of our Year 9 students. The confidence with which they ran their sessions may mean we are educating some teachers of the future here….Long may the link with Fair Oak Juniors continue!
