Hampshire Constabulary are running Operation Sceptre during the week beginning 9th November and we want to help raise awareness of this at Wyvern

Operation Sceptre was launched in July 2015 by The Metropolitan Police Service with the aim of reducing knife crime. In February 2018 all police forces came together in the first national response to Op Sceptre in an attempt to counter a nationwide rise in knife crime. Keeping national momentum, police forces across the country have supported subsequent national weeks of action.

Hampshire Constabulary are actively encouraging schools to help raise awareness about the risks and the impact carrying a knife/weapon can have on individuals and the community.

Below are links to several resources which our parents/carers might find informational and helpful.

#knifefree: This resource uses real-life stories of young people to highlight the consequences of carrying a knife and to inspire young people to pursue positive alternatives

Fearless: ‘Crimestoppers’ specifically for young people age 11 -16yrs; providing information to them and a service to encourage anonymous reporting of crime.

No Knives, Better Lives: This is a dedicated website for practitioners, parents and young people. Consisting of education films, lesson plans and activity resources from primary age upwards. This is a dedicated organisation set up to support families affected by knife crime, providing a host of information and advice.
