The transition from primary to secondary education is an important process and starts for Year 6 pupils during the summer term when the Pastoral Leader for the new Year 7 visits our main feeder schools to meet pupils and provide some initial information about what life is like at the college.
The process continues when all Year 6 pupils are invited to a taster day at Wyvern in July, when they tour the college, meet staff and take part in some sample lessons. It is an important time for parents too, and on the evening of the taster day, we run a parents’ evening which provides a whole range of additional information about the college.
In the first term, our aim is to integrate new students into Wyvern, and the Pastoral Leader for Year 7 works with dedication to ensure that tutor groups are integrated with old friends and new faces so that this first term at Wyvern is one of both familiarity and discovery.
If you have any particular queries about the transition process, please do contact the college.
