Information for Prospective Parents and Pupils

Wyvern is a popular 11-16 school providing high-quality teaching in a creative, vibrant and welcoming environment.  Our vision is to inspire all students to have the highest aspirations; to encourage them to be independent, resourceful and resilient with a passion for lifelong learning in the 21st century.   The aims that support our vision are:
Ambition – we have the ambition to aim high
Aspiration – we aspire to make the most of our opportunities
Confidence – we have the confidence to try new things
High Achievement – we are high achieving and proud of our success
Inspiration – we share experiences which inspire us all
Responsibility – we have the resilience to persist even when faced with challenges
Support – we support each other, we support our community
Work Ethic – we are ready for the world beyond our college
Our high standards are reflected in a broad and challenging curriculum that supports the needs of individual learners.  We encourage students of all abilities to advance from one academic target to the next and our staff display an unrivalled dedication to the individual child, with both academic and pastoral issues taking equal priority. Investment in resources is high and facilities are continually improved.
The college offers an impressive range of extra-curricular activities.  Our Music Department has a dazzling array of bands, groups and choirs; the PE department coach numerous sporting teams; and College drama productions are enormously popular.  Educational visits are a continual part of learning at Wyvern with a wide range of experiences available in this country and abroad.
Further information about the college is available on this website, but if there is anything else you would like to know, please do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to welcoming you and your sons and daughters to our thriving school community.
