As a major Teaching School partner and a centre for teacher training and professional development, we are always looking to recruit or place high quality teaching talent, either through vacancies here at Wyvern itself (we currently have vacancies in English and Religious and Personal Studies/Citizenship), or by making introductions to our partner schools.

Wyvern is a particularly ‘parent-friendly’ employer.  Our Outstanding on-site Nursery (Ofsted 2015) makes balancing work and childcare much easier for professionals who are also mums and dads of very young children.  We also have before and after-school clubs and holiday schemes, led by trained professionals, which provide excellent educational supervision for older children in a safe and welcoming environment.

If you are looking to return to teaching, perhaps after a career-break to start a family, we have many colleagues who can share with you their success in following a similar pathway.  We can also provide you with a warm welcome and assistance to induct you back into the profession, in a friendly and high attaining school.  We would invest in substantive re-training for the right calibre of candidate.

Or if you are a newly- or recently-qualified teacher, we would also like to hear from you.  You might like to register with us as ‘out-of-season’ vacancies might occur at any time, e.g. owing to maternity leave.  And you will have no agency fees to pay!

Finally, we would also like to hear from you if you are thinking of starting a career in teaching, either as a new graduate or because you are considering a career change.  Wyvern is an Initial Teacher Training provider, in partnership with our local SCITT, and we are the gatekeeper to several possible routes into teacher training.  In addition, we often have openings within our support staff teams which are designed to provide stepping stones into a teaching career for those who discover that they have a vocational calling.

Apart from the positives of working in a vibrant, stimulating and high attaining community school, being a Wyvern member of staff holds several other benefits, including a health care scheme, discounted nursery provision, gym membership, a cycle to work scheme and a thriving staff social network.

If any of this touches a chord with you, why not pick contact us by phone or email to hrdept@wyvern.hants.sch.uk .  Application forms for current vacancies are available from the Recruitment section on the website.
