The pastoral support structure at Wyvern is one of our greatest strengths since we believe that children are more likely to achieve if they feel secure. The Pastoral Leaders and Pastoral Assistants are all skilled at supporting students both academically, emotionally and socially while at the heart of the support structure is the student’s tutor. This tutor supports students from Years 7 to 11, establishing invaluable links with the family and meeting parents on Academic Review Days to report on progress and academic targets.
The personal development of students is at the heart of our pastoral structure. Therefore tutors support students in studies of Citizenship, Health Education, Careers, Anti-bullying, Human Rights and the Holocaust.
An energetic and active student run College Council allows students to voice their opinions on College matters, while some students become Peer Supporters and play a powerful part in the pastoral well-being of fellow students.
