Reporting the Absence of a Student

A green tick will confirm successful submission. Notifications can be submitted at any time but must be received before 8:15 a.m. on the day of absence.
Alternate Reporting Methods
If the Edulink app is unavailable, parents/carers may report absence by 8:15 a.m. via:
-
Phone: 02380 692679 (select option 1, or extension 255)
-
Email: welfare@wyvern.hants.sch.uk
When using phone or email, please provide:
-
Student’s full name
-
Tutor group
-
Reason for absence
-
Anticipated date of return
⚠️ Important: Please do not use the general enquiries email address for reporting absence, as these messages may not be seen until later in the day.
Daily Reporting Requirement
For safeguarding purposes, parents/carers must contact the College each day their child is absent, unless it has been clearly stated in advance that the absence will last for a set number of days. Wyvern College cannot assume ongoing illness without daily confirmation.
Signing In Late / Signing Out Early
If a student needs to arrive late or leave early for an appointment, parents/carers should use the Edulink app or Welfare email to notify the College in advance. This ensures that staff are aware and that the student can be signed in or out promptly.
Written Notes
A written note is only required if an absence has not been reported via Edulink, phone, or email. Notes should be handed to the Welfare Office.
